This book is about the process of making a short, low budget, indie film in an as uncomplicated a way possible. This is striped down, bare bones, as simple as it gets filmmaking. It is largely aimed at filmmakers who maybe older (thought first-timers are welcome), for whom the dream didn’t quite pan out as they had hoped. Life went a different way. Now we’re older, we have jobs, careers, kids, other responsibilities and film just does not fit into our lives anymore. Well, I’m here to tell you it can. There is a way to bring film back. It’s about reframing the dream, scaling it down to fit inside our lives as they are now. It’s not about adding more complications or stress, we have plenty of that. It’s about getting back to something we love. Something that’s going to replenish us, reinvigorate us. It’s about getting back to being storytellers.
